RE: baby refusing solids to 12 months: Not to worry. Happens a lot,
especially in pre-allergic kids who know what they should be eating.
(Including my now beefy 20-year old son). Read Biocultural Perspectives about
weaning ages based on biology. Only worry if height falls off or
developmental milestones start falling behind - and then do a careful
analysis of total nursings per 24 hours and other non-nutritive sucking (dare
I flame pacifiers one more time?) being done. They'll make up for lost time
when they are teenagers.

Linda Smith, BSE, FACCE, IBCLC - having done some research on the
4-months-start-solids "rule" and found it wanting. Dayton, OH
