Announcing
"Breastfeeding Topic of the Month"
www.bftopics.org

This is a six month pilot project that will offer monthly presentations on a
particular breastfeeding topic. Consultants, breastfeeding lay counselors,
health professionals and breastfeeding mothers from around the world will
contribute their expertise and experience to each topic.

Each month a presentation of a selected topic will be posted on the website.
After registering, you will be able to discuss your questions, ideas and
experiences and let others know how each topic is relevant to you in your
part of the world on both personal and professional levels.
You will be able to submit comments or questions to our consultants via a
comment form or you can chat with others via the bulletin board.

The first month's topic is
 Exclusive Breastfeeding
What is meant by exclusive breastfeeding? How rare or how common is
exclusive breastfeeding around the world? What can be done to encourage
exclusive breastfeeding? Do definitions differ?

Future Topics:
Complementary Feeding
Lactational Amenorrhea Method
Common Breastfeeding Difficulties
Optimal Breastfeeding Practices
Breastfeeding and Working

Consultants:
Kathy Koch, BSEd, IBCLC, Maryland USA
Gulnara Semenova, MD, Ph.D., IBCLC, Melbourne, Australia
Marina Ferreira Rea, MD, Ph.D., São Paulo, Brazil

Webmaster:
Sue Ann Kendall, MA, ABD, Texas USA

Don't miss this opportunity to make your voice heard and become part of this
exciting international dialogue which will promote breastfeeding through
learning from each other. Our web site is not a forum for mother-to-mother
breastfeeding support, nor can the medical professionals on our board of
consultants respond to personal breastfeeding questions. Please restrict
your comments and questions to the topics covered on our website.

This website is made possible through the LINKAGES Project, a USAID funded,
5-year, worldwide breastfeeding program to improve breastfeeding and related
complementary feeding, LAM and maternal dietary practices.
