As a breastfeeding mother aware of communicable diseases, I wouldn't nurse
another's child if I was putting that child at risk. I hope every mother
feels that way. I wouldn't nurse a baby right now as I'm 22 weeks pregnant
and my milk tastes nasty (IMHO, but not my daughter's). I wouldn't expect a
baby to want it and I wouldn't want to provide a less than positive
experience at the breast.

I don't own my daughter, and I am not the only person who has an intimate
and dynamic relationship with her- she has many and I hope she continues to
develop more of them. I would not be offended if a friend of mine or
relative nursed my child; I would be honored. I think I view this more in
the traditional view of nursing someone as strenthening their bond. JMHO,
but I've been thinking about it during this entire thread.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that ALL babies who are artificially fed
are guinea pigs in the biggest human nutritional field experiment ever
conducted.- Arly Helm
