I don't see how the Atkins Diet could be a very good recommendation for a
breastfeeding woman - or for anyone else, either; isn't that the one that
essentially puts you in ketosis? The one that "lets" you eat lots of protein
& fat, but severely restricts carbs? So that you break down your own body
tissue as en energy source? Have I got it all wrong? I know the
nutritionists at WIC where I worked absolutely flipped out when they heard
about people going on Atkins. We've noted before that doctors aren't always
the latest word on dietary recommendations; I wouldn't take this particular
bit of advice, myself!

(Of course, if you could see me you wouldn't take my advice on weight loss
either!!)
