Can anyone point me in the right direction to find anything that accurately describes the normal behaviour of the mother after birth-especially the sequence of mutual gaze, touching, stroking, verbalising etc.
For use with mothers in antenatal classess so they understand the interaction between themselves and their newborns if left quiet and undisturbed immediately after birth.
Here in NZ many family members can be present at birth and while their support can be fabulous they can also be intrusive.
Sue (in C1 remission from NHL)
