I just had a call from a RN LLL in northern British Columbia, Canada.
Apparently a public health nurse she is colaborating with has been told by
"an expert" that there is no such thing as nipple confusion, and that
consequently it did not matter how a baby was supplemented if feeding at the
breast had to be delayed or interrupted. This nurse is colaborating in a
community interdiciplinary meeting to standardize local breastfeeding care,
and now has doubts about the need to be cautious about bottles, nipple
shields etc. An article by Robin Glass was mentioned to her, but specific
journal or other source was not given. Where do I find this article? I
know that nipple confusion/nipple preference has been well debated on
LACTNET recently. Any comments on this specific article?
