I have read both of your mesages re IBCLC>..I donot think that you need
a "lower" level of exam...the entry level indication means these are the
basics that one should know in order to "hand a shingle". The technology that
you and others outside of the states are not familiar with "hands-on" should
not in anyway ipede your ability to sit and do well on the exam.
Part of the reason to recert at 5 and re sit at 10 is to "prove" our
value and worth. It is also the result of being a new-comer...we are asked to
abide by regulations that everyone
should do but don't because they came in before regulations existed.
While the exam remains entry level if one is not keeping current then
one in theory will not pass the enrty level as times and practice changes...

I hope this answers some of your questions...
