I rec'd this reply to my letter to the Red Cross about infant formula/war/natural disasters . My letter discussed information from the Emergency Nutrition Network, WHO, and reflected the same info on ILCA. I offered to help volunteer locally with preparation-type education as education prior to an emergency would seem to be more helpful.

Dear Mirine:

Thank you for contacting the American Red Cross. The Red Cross is dedicated to saving lives, easing suffering and restoring hope at home and around the world.

The Red Cross received your e-mail message dated Mar19, 2003, expressing your concerns about the breast milk substitutes. We suggest you contact the Food and Drug Administration.

Sincerely,
Public Inquiry Center
American Red Cross
