It's hard to get a figure because there are so many varying definitions
in use:

1-Do you count the moms who "wean at birth" (in other words, never
breastfeed)?
2-Do you count the ones that make a half-hearted attempt in the
immediate post-partum period, but give up at the least little perceived
"hitch" in the first few days?
3-By weaning do you mean from total breast feeding to no breastfeeding,
from total to partial, from any breastfeeding to no breastfeeding, etc?
This is why there are so many conflicting statistics out there.
