Most things I read about radiation talk about how bad it is for
breastfeeding mothers...however, if a mom has to have radiation to her uterine area
following a total hysterectomy wouldn't that area be contained enough to
make breastfeeding ok...I want to tell this mom it's ok, but want to check
with you experts before I confidently speak to her.
Thanks.
~~~Hi Polly & all:
When I had chronic low back pain and needed an Xray, and my son was a
breastfeeding toddler, I asked for the lead mitts and held my hands/arms over my
 breast tissue. A lead apron, could work too as long as it didn't block the
area  that needed to be radiated.
Just a thought?
Judy
