Hello all,

Sorry I can't find which p0st this was in, but the altas being off 18 mm
makes sense.

The altas is C1, the top cervical(neck) vertebrae. It articulates with C2,
the axis, and the skull. Any baby who is having feeding issues, tongue
function, milk transfer issues, can't get or stay comfortable at breast, etc,
could have some slight shifts of the bones of the neck/ skull/jaw as a
complicating factor. This is includes babies born by having their heads pulled
on, ( CS, or forceps or vacuum), from high or long birth forces( esp with
epidural/pit births), or very speedy labors when everything happens quickly (
those 4 hour labors I've known but never had...:)

CST, or pediatric-gentle chiropractic can be very helpful for these little
ones and their little shifts. Sometimes with a good eye we can pick these
things up, sometimes we just see that something isn't working smoothly, so
we refer and then the other professional tells us what he/she finds. Helps
baby, and helps mom understand why, at that moment, things are so hard.

Peace,
Judy
