Right on, Janet Simpson!  Here  in Vermont 40% of all babies
born are enrolled in the WIC program.  There is no way to
generalize about such a broad group of families.  My favorite
story about this issue involves a newspaper reporter who came to
a local clinic to interview "poor people" about a nutrition
issue and discovered - much to her embarrassment - that her
family was financially eligible for WIC services.
