I realized after receiving a post from a real MD who helps mommies and
babies breastfeed other than offering lip service, that i may have seemed
narrow in my focus singling out the peds office who (just) offer the bottle
as the only/main alternative to breastfeeding difficulties. It was unfair
to pick on any one profession, but in our area it is primarily the peds who
re-assure there's NOTHING risky in ABM-BOTTLES and DUMMIES (pacifiers) and
that mom's milk vs ABM is a COKE/PEPSI issue.....so she doesn't feel guilty
and not come to my practice anymore.....

All professions, but it is especially the revered MD whose WORD's are
GOSPEL who have the greatest impact on mom's attitude re: pros and cons of
artificial interventions. The biggest problem is the peds or ob or nurse or
nurse-practioner who had 1 (or more) infants "cross/suck"
breast/bottle/pacifier and not wean before the requisite 4-6 months that DO
NOT BELIEVE nipple "WHATEVERYOUWANTTOCALLIT" is remotely possible. You see
ALL babies are from the same textbook (mold) just like "ALL BABIES ONLY
NEED 15 minutes at each breast (properly timed and spaced evenly), 2-4
hourly increments with the requisite pacifier or bottle if he'll take
it"(because there's NOT ENOUGH COLOSTRUM TO SAFELY KEEP NEONATES
NOURISHED--SUGARS ABOVE 50) the last statement is derived from the new
policy/standing orders written by the lactophobic neonatologist who
cornered me and posted chloe's letter to "PEDIATRICS"(journal) ALL OVER 2
HOSPITALS he is also the one that states breastfeeding KILLS babies with
AIDS, DEHYDRATION, and brain damage due to bilirubin !  I guess this is our
local WBW "WALL STREET JOURNAL" blast with an MD behind the name and ROSS
LABS behind the MD.....i pray for patience with every breath i take in the
hospital, and he's just courtesy staff at ours.....
