Sorry to misunderstand, Cassandra.  I don't think there is any/very much
evidence on this.  A quick google scholar search revealed not very much ...
A couple of case studies which describe this phenomenon as very rare.  A
sensible guess would be to wait until mum is asymptomic.  Meanwhile, an
elemental formula is probably indicated.  The first breastfeed should be
treated as a formal challenge and take place in a medically supervised
environment with full resusc facility.
What a nightmare ...
