While I'm delighted to see breastfeeding articles in JOGNN, when is AWHONN
going to discontinue using Mead Johnson and Ross Labs as corporate sponsors
for their conferences and other activities?  A call-out on page 649 of the
Nov/Dec 1998 issue of JOGNN states, "The formula industry and health care
providers do not appear to adhere voluntarily to the International Code of
Marketing Brestmilk Substitutes".  AWHONN is guilty of violating the
Code-you'd better believe these two companies are MARKETING at our AWHONN
conferences or they wouldn't be there in the first place.  By the way, this
particular research article was MUCH easier for me (the research numskull)
to read than the recent Nursing Research article I ranted about a few days
ago.
