Beverly Rae's case sounds suspiciously like she has been reading some of my
client report forms!

I believe you are on the right track, Beverly, to attempt to reduce the
volume of the offending (potentially) foods in the mother's diet. You might
also check (if you haven't already) to determine if anyone in her family
has similar sensitivities. Keep in mind that people with food reactions
tend to react in one of two ways to things that do bad things to them:
they either hate the foods and do everything to avoid them, or they crave
them. When I see a mother who is taking in a lot of dairy, I now routinely
ask if they have been instructed to do so? If not, why are they doing so?
Inevitably, two things emerge from that discussion. A) They have been told
something like "you must drink milk to make milk." That one is fairly easy
to dispel with statmeents that any fluid will do. B) They "really
like"/"cant seem to get enough" milk/other dairies. That sounds like a
craving to me! We then talk about ways to cut down while maintianing
sufficient calcium intake. (RDs, please speak up here, too, please)

Beverly, please let us all know how this case progresses.
