Dear Wise Ones,

I am a long-time LC who for whatever reason, has never attended a workshop
on tongue tie. Is it possible to describe, briefly what categorizes a
posterior tongue tie, versus other kinds? I remember reviewing I think it
was Hazelbaker's info re: the functional assessment of tongue mobility some
time ago, however I need to review this again. Catherine WG has done
wonderful work on this and unfortunately I have not been to her
presentations.. Are there any good citations that review this topic in
detail?

As for CST - being hospital based RN, it is hard for me to make a
recommendation to begin with, and finding someone who is skilled in this
area. We are very conservative in our health care practices here and for the
most part, I feel this would not be well received. How do other hospital
based LC's deal with this issue. We live in an area where there are no
private practice LC's, so we are it.

LuAnn Smith, RN,BSN, IBCLC
