Did any of you see the article in JHL about how we use words?  The gist of
it was that we are saying that BF babies are "healthier" have fewer ear
infections" and have "higher IQs" and all of the other things that we know
to be true.  The way we use words reflect the way ideas are perceived.  As
the article points out, BF babies don't have "fewer" health problems or
higher IQs- they are normal!  Perhaps we should be saying that that
artifically fed babies have lower IQs, more ear infections, and aren't as
healthy as BF babies.  Makes a lot of sense.  The way we word it now sounds
like arificialy fed babies are normal and BF babies are above normal.  Lots
of moms are happy to settle for "normal".  Too bad.   Nancy Sherwood IBCLC,
