You make an excellent point, Pat.  This is the one point we have not
mentioned yet. Parenting while intoxicated on alcohol or drugs.  This is
a problem whether the mother is breastfeeding or bottlefeeding.  It is
one of the first questions I ask.  "If you are drinking (smoking,
using), who is watching the baby?"

And the differences in development may very well be related to the
neglect of an intoxicated parent, as you say.
