I see the same problem you do with individuals misrepresenting
themselves.  I believe RDs,have similiar problems with individuals
regarding themselves as nutritionists.  In our small community when I
hear someone refer to themselves or their hospital refer to them having
lactation consultants, I politely and personally correct their
misunderstanding.  It has made mild waves in the short term, but in the
long term, some of those same offenders are interested and/or applying to
the IBCLE for certification, with my help and blessing.
