Hannah -

Surely the docs could spot the difference between "drowning" and
suffocation. Was there milk in the lungs?

My guess would be that it was neither nursing nor suffocation, but something
independent of the two. I used to sleep with my head completely under a
blanket, a months-long hold-over from a summer spent with mosquitoes. And I
don't see how a healthy baby could suffocate - or choke - without a
substantial struggle under that blanket.
