I may be totally off base but why does the pump need to be cleaned? The only
thing to touch it is the tubing connecting it to the kit

I assumed in my response that we were discussing kits-in some cases these kits
do convert into manual pumps- hence the discussion on sterilizing "pumps". If
I was incorrect in this assumption please correct me.
