I could use some help on this one!
I saw a very experienced bf mother whose 6mo old kept pulling back with the
breast in the mouth until he was at the end of the nipple and then let go.
Many many times.Not positional, not distraction.  At first visit we tried
SNS at breast (to see if it was supply & because baby had lost 1 lb between
2 &6 mos age)& the baby stayed on, swallowing lots. Mother had some reduced
milk supply issues; resolved now after tx for hypothyroid, recovered from
long bronchitis, has been taking fenugreek & blessed thistle faithfully. Now
baby pulls off lots even with SNS. No bcp's, minimal solids fed to baby.
Any suggestions??
