As I have 2 adopted Chinese daughters I follow the news from China as much
as I can, and came across this interesting note in an article on the
terrible flooding in central China in today's Washington Post online:

The article is referring to television news programs in China showing scenes
of flooding and rescues. "One program showed several clips of wet nurses
feeding breastmilk to soldiers in cups and rubbing it on their bodies in an
effort to prevent troops from catching waterborne diseases. Chinese believe
that human milk can cure many ailments."
As you can imagine, that got this Lactnetter's attention!

As a side note, the American Red Cross is accepting donations for flood
relief in China.
