I should introduce myself before I respond to this. (A bit late as I have
already posted a bit but forgive me. My enthusiasm was so great I couldn't
help myself! It's great to see such a community with similar interests.)

I'm Karen Cunningham a family physician in London Ontario. Recently I have
become very interested in breastfeeding as a special interest and would
ultimately like to persue further training in this area. (As soon as I get
a little more time once Alanna mu youngest is a little less needy of my
evening time)

Pardon my punctuation. Our comma key doesn't work courtesy of Evan.

Just following this thread with interest.

>>I have heard Gene Cranston Anderson speak on kangaroo care and describe a
"heat pad" that seems to come into action on the chest of both males and
females during kangaroo care. I wonder if this is what you experience
Jeffrey? Ever tried kangaroo care?<<

>This brought to mine a concern shared with me by two L&D nurses recently. I

My husband often holds our kids like this. The heat generated has always
been incredible and usually will put our youngest right back to sleep if
she has just roused a little and isn't really hungry. My husband is much
hotter than I have ever been.

I don't know of any physician based studies that have been done on this.
