A local TV station in Tuscon, Arizona has been following the story of the
mother being charged with killing her baby via drugs in her milk.  Here is the
latest from their web site, a transcript of Friday (8/8/97) night's broadcast:

HEROIN BABY


FORMAL CHARGES FILED TODAY AGAINST A TUCSON COUPLE
ACCUSED OF KILLING THEIR BABY.

AMY POWELL AND ROBIN JOHNSON WERE ARRESTED LAST
WEEK.

TONIGHT WE KNOW THEY'VE BEEN CHARGED WITH SECOND
DEGREE MURDER, POSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHENALIA AND
SEVERAL COUNTS OF CHILD ABUSE.

AMY POWELL BREAST FED HER BABY WHILE SHE WAS USING
HEROIN AND ANOTHER DRUG.

DOCTORS SAY THE COMBINATION KILLED THE INFANT.
