Hi Sara,
Exercise allows glucose to enter cells without using insulin, kindof
bypassing the whole insulin/receptor system. I don't know if we could
find a workaround for prolactin receptors, perhaps by finding a way to
increase the milk gland's own prolactin production, so it does not have
to get as much from the bloodstream through the receptors???

>>Here's another idea, which might be way of ball, but anyway. NIDDM patients
have insulin resistance. Once way of helping decrease insulin resistance in
tissues (i.e. muscle) is to exercise and train them, this also has to do
with insulin receptors.
