    Some tragic cases are posted in today's LACTNET.
    We must also remember that a mother suffering with this syndrome must be 
on hormone replacement therapy for the rest of her life. The pituitary is 
called the Master Gland because it makes so many hormones: oxytocin (I wonder what 
happens to the emotions of a person with a ruined pituitary gland) and 
prolactin as we have seen and also thyroid and parathyroid hormones.
