Just so y'all don't think I work in a total backwater...

Today, I had a fruitful chat with one of the public health nurse managers
for my County's Health Department. She is passing on that little nugget
about certain local physicians stating that lactation is a contraindication
to TB testing to her boss (the County Health Officer) and the TB public
health nurse. They are eager to go out and do some inservices with the local
physicians. TB testing is a big issue in our area as many docs are loathe to
do it properly, follow up appropriately (but that is a whole 'nuther story).

The nice thing is that I also had wonderful breastfeeding pamphlets and
manual pumps brought to my office by a staff person from our County's Women
Infant and Children's program. They also supply me with really nice 100%
cotton nursing pads that I give to new moms.

Some days the bear eats you, some days you eat the bear. At least I never
have to worry about unemployment :).
