We have a fairly liberal policy on how long a healthy, full-term baby
can go before supplementation is indicated. We do blood sugars if
there has ben no feed by 12 hours or if the baby has gone 12 hours
since a feed, and then at 24 hours we are supposed to call the dr. I
want to refine this policy a little though, incorporating the recs.
of the new hypoglycemia policy from ABM.

My question is - are there any studies that help differentiate the
baby who is merely having a prolonged "sleepy" period from the baby
who is lethargic, refusing to feed and may be hypoglycemic?
