I would suggest for a class/group the following:

1. Feed the mamas-something about a snack that makes coming and chatting a
bit more interesting. I think adults like to talk over food.

2. Find out if your moms work, are in school or have older children to take
to school. When I was a new mom 9 am seemed too early for me to go anywhere.
I was more likely to make a meeting if it was around the noon hour (hence
feeding the mama became even more of an enticement). The parents in my
practice that have other children find a 9 am time pretty tough (if they need
to get the others off to school- not enough time to then get themselves
ready). If you have working moms evening groups may not work so well --
perhaps a Saturday late morning or early afternoon would be better.

3. Market the group with something catchy. Most moms (and dads) get so many
pieces of paper about child care, feeding, other stuff in packets that I
think things get overlooked. Also finding places where mothers of young
children congregate may be another place to advertise (parks, Laundromats,
stores)

4. Try not to call it a "class"-perhaps the moms are put off by the thought
of being lectured to once again about what is optimal childrearing. Somehow
to me "group", "drop-in" or sometime else more cozy would be more attractive.

Just a few suggestions. Good luck with your project.
