As an OB nurse/ibclc for past 14 years I agree 100% with previous post
re:frustration and having to demand your own baby. With my last 3 del at
same place I worked the nurses knew better than to even try to get my baby.
However, my little sis who del 1/28 still had the same ole battle. As I
couldn't be there 24hrs they did their routines which involvede 2 periods of
seperation for 3hrs and 5 hrs. First for bath, second for Dr. vs. and one
more for 11/2hr for lab! And this is supposed to be the MOST baby friendly
hospital in Nashville! I even hand picked her Labor nurse, and she did get
immediate skin to skin, for less than 5 min! then he was examined under
warmer and bundled! She also pushed flat on her back and was told to point
her bottom to ceiling. ARRRRRRGH
