Marie- it is very important to get this baby with the odor to a doc. As a pedi
nurse, I specialized in some diseases like Cystic Fibrosis. The guiding
symptoms are a strange, salty, cloride-loaded sweat, and large foul-smelling
stools. I would definitely get this babe checked out. It might turn out to be
nothing, but strange odors on babies can really be a red flag that shouldn't
be innored. The beauty of the nursing relationship is that the mom is so ooo
keyed in to her baby that she can pick up on things like this odor. I could
SMELL a fever on my kids when they would develop some virus in the middle of
the night- I slept with them always and found my sense of smell could tell me
things my other senses couldn't.
