To Jennifer Tow:
Who criticized my reference of tea tree oil as being toxic if taken orally
and possibly a cause of eczema.
You are quite strong in your advocacy of tea tree oil, so I assume you have
had a large amount of experience with it. I haven't. I only went by my one
reference at the time.
I would never recommend putting something on a woman's nipples that has a
reference for toxicity without a doctor's ok. That is probably the nurse in
me. I am glad if it helped you, of course.
Since I am new to Lactnet I do not know who Robert Tisserand is. Could you
enlighten me? And I would be very interested in the 1983 case of the man in
Australia. You said it was a documented case. Could you e-mail me the
reference? I would appreciate it very much.
Thank you for your communication of your strong feelings for tea tree oil.
PS. Having worked in a dermatologists office at one time and knowing the
highly sensitive nature of the epidermis and dermis of those afflicted with
eczema and how they usually have an allergic bias, I would be very careful
with that population when recommending a substance know to produce eczema.
They are not the same as the general population, who probably do fine with
tea tree oil for lesions and such.
PPS I am quite interested in references with tea tree oil and candida also.
Thank you.
