I might approach this with the Russian ladies by focusing on cardio
respiratory changes after birth. They may be familiar with hypothermia
concepts as well, and the fact that one can be warmed up more quickly next
to a warm body rather than wrapped in a blanket. You could also talk about
babies immune system being exposed to the mom the first day to be
colonized. I would initially approach this for the first couple of hours
after birth and maybe then extended to the first 24 hours. I would offer it
as new science and for the benefit of the baby's health and not necessarily
related to the breastfeeding?
