Hello wise ones,

I am presenting on a topic near and dear to my heart, how to support breastfeeding duration. One of the topics I address is why we should care and talk about the 2 aspects to "dose" of breastfeeding which contributes to optimal health, both exclusivity AND duration.

I usually talk about the effects on mom, babe, society of supporting breast feeding past 1 year. One of my favourite points which has a lot of impact is the link between breast feeding and breast cancer reduction. I use the Collaborative Group on Hormonal Factors in Breast Cancer (2002) published in the Lancet as a reference to talk about the 4.3% decrease in the relative risk of breast cancer for each year of breast feeding.

Here's my question:
Does anyone have a similar impactful piece of research highlighting the importance of duration of breastfeeding for the child that they would be willing to share?

Many thanks in advance.

Warmly,
Tina
