Penny posted about wanting a hands-free set up for her pumping - all you
need is any nursing bra and two rubber bands. If your bra has the eye part
of the hook-and-eye closure on the strap (rather than on the cup), loop the
rubberband through the eye and back through itself - now you have
a "harness" for the flange - just put the flange through the rubberband
loop so the rubberband is where the cone meets the straight tube on the
flange. You have to hold the flanges while you start pumping, but once
suction is established, the rubberbands hold the bottles in place quite
nicely. If your bra has the hook at the top, it's even easier, just put
the rubberband (one word - like breastfeeding?) around the flange and then
over the hook. I have hours of email logged using this technique.
This is basically what the medela hands-free bra is - just with fabric
loops to put the rubberband through - and an extra one at the middle of the
bra for extra stability.
I've heard the whisperwear is not as good a pump as the other double-
electrics, and can have some leakage problems - this is probably a better
solution.
