Hello, to Gail, and all; about the sore nipples, I know there have been many many tried remedies, and wondered if you had heard about hydrogel therepy? It is new (to us, anyway!) and have tried just recently on a few persistently sore nipples. As you said, when latch and position are verified, and yeast,etc, some mothers are just very sensitive. Anyway, if all else is not working, see if you can get the hydrogel; they are little soft disc, feel like soft silly putty, is what is used for decubiti. Faily inexpensive, the mothers we have tried on so far have felt remarkable relief in 24-48 hrs.
