As a further post to the one I made earlier...

Alison Blenkinsop, UK IBCLC and midwife, has taken up the call on
fighting the UK Gov's Borders Agency on this one, and is demanding they
accept that this was inhumane treatment, and that they promise not to
ever let it happen again. So far, every official contacted, has stated
there was no problem with not feeding a baby for 18 hours, and refused
all professional response that this was inhumane.

Alison is requesting that any suitable qualified infant feeding people,
who are as equally outraged at this, send her a letter supporting that
it was inhumane treatment, detailing their own qualifications. She
isn't going to stop until they accept it's not a good standard of care,
to let a baby this young go hungry for over 18 hours.

She has detailed the incident, and the letters sent back and forth etc,
on this website:

http://www.nursingmatters.org.uk/statement.html

And asks anyone who can aid her, to get in touch. aliblenk AT
hotmail.com www.linkable.biz <http://www.linkable.biz/>

Given Alison's large and shiny qualifications, I/Nursing Matters have
taken a support role in providing her with info etc (and the web site).
In other words, I'm helping to sharpen the lance, as she tilts ahead... :-)

Please drop by the website, and see if you can help. You could also
pass on the URL in other forums.

Many Thanks

Morgan Gallagher
