I'm the LC in a 40 bed level 3 NICU.  I read the CDC position the same way
you do.  Can you revise your policy?  I do glove when examining a baby's
mouth, or assisting a mother/baby couplet with latch-on.  If the gloves
become too cumbersome, I take them off.  Fortunately, our policy doesn't
address this issue.  Good luck, Mary
