The article Jay mentioned was posted about on April 1, folks.  I know
because I posted it. Guess nobody clicks on URLs in posts.

Even though it would mean forgoing much-wanted income, these prominent
representatives from many medical specialties advocate a null tolerance
policy on specialty medical professional associations taking money which
could even give the APPEARANCE of conflict of interest.  One of the authors
is a former head of AAP.

I find it sad that so many professional associations for lactation
consultants don't seem to see the problem with our reliance on sponsorship
money from companies who profit when breastfeeding is not working.  Our
associations more than most should be very cognizant of the ethical dilemmas
here.
