Chris writes of a mother whose employer insists that she pump on her own
time, and refuses to let her work reduced hours. The baby is very young.
This scenario would be considered illegal harassment here in Norway, and the
mother would have numerous agencies in her corner, and the bank would lose
image big time.

What is this bank's policy on smoking breaks? Perhaps the mother could
suddenly start smoking. Just don't let her get caught with the proverbial
smoking pump in hand!

The bank probably doesn't care what the International Labor Organization has
to say about breastfeeding breaks, I guess. And if the mother is absent
from work due to her child's illness, a more likely event if the
breastfeeding fails due to the employer's hostile practices, they can
probably fire her for that, right?

Good luck, and Liz Baldwin, where are you now?
