I have been really backed up on my Lactnet digests and so I apologize if
this has been covered lately.
I need some help from my fellow WIC coordinators.  I have been blessed
with a HUGE breast pump budget and I have been researching ways to best
spend it.  I met with Medela today and I will be placing an order with
them.  The main decision for me is do I want to purchase or rent pumps
and how many.  Pearl and Cindy have shared some info with me already.  I
was wondering how programs that have purchased pumps are fairing with
them.  Do you "lose" alot of pumps?  Also how do you track them.
Someone mentioned they had a tracking program, I would be interested in
learning more about this.  I also need to find out about protocol for
who get to use them over someone else, this can be really sticky I would
think.  Seems like we will buy the pumps because then I don't have to
worry about whether or not there will be money the following year to
renew.  But renting gives you protection against loss and defect and
repair.  Just not sure what direction to go in.
Any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
