Thank you for all the notes of care and concern about my latex allergy. I get
down sometimes emotionally and you always brighten my days. As I read through
LactNet posts, I think about situations I may have had in the past that are
similar, or brainstorm with myself what to do. As I said, ya'll are my link
with the lactation world.
Some of my favorite memories are of conferences I have attended, years ago
with babies in arms, then sitting in the back of the room playing with toddlers
(then ordering the tape to see what was said). Then we attended with our
school agers who made penpals and swore to be BFF (best friends forever). We
bribed our teens into going to breastfeeding conferences by assuring them they
would find babysitting jobs and make lots of money. And of course many of you
"oldtimers" were there with me absorbing all the knowledge and refreshing our
commitment to meeting at least the Healthy People goals. ANd now my daughter is
exploring LLL leadership so I am passing the torch on to a new generation.
Congratulations to all the new IBCLCs. Let me know if I can help from afar
with your professional goals and work.
