The Ross sales representative was here last week and brought to the nurses
a sample of their new "Breast Milk Storage Bottles, the Ross Hospital
Formula System" (this is an exact quote from the front of the package!
misplelling of breastmilk and all).

They come in a bag of "4-2oz plastic bottles, ready for use". With the
imprint of "Isomil, Similac" and the trademark bear on the top of each
plastic lid.
With instructions for use: "Filled bottles should be stored in
refrigerator and used as directed by your health care professional. Discard
after 72 hours. If breast milk is to be frozen, chill and freeze it
immediately after filling bottles. Leave at least a quater of the bottle as
air apace, because the milk will expand. Label all bottles with name, date
and time. When ready to use frozen breast milk, swirl bottle under warm tap
water to thaw. Feed thawed breast milk right away or refrigerate; do not
refreeze."

To use them by the intructions on the package, to freeze mother's milk they
would hold only 1.5 ounces of milk each, leaving the rest of the bottle for
expansion.
There is other instructions as to how to reuse, etc.

My understanding from the nurses was Ross was instucting them, these
storage bottles would replace the sterile water bottles and the hospital
needed to order them. They would be for a fee, just like the gradu-feeders
have been for a fee for the last few years (now that most of their use is
for feeding breastmilk).

Our neonatologist's first response to me was it was all about money,
providing a product for a price to replace one that had previously been
for 'free' (as we all know, nothing is really for free).
