I'm curious about the "new" standards of practice that Carol B. is referring
too. Could you share that with the rest of us? Where did they come from?
Whose standards are they? I'm having trouble keeping up with some of the
discussions lately. I am *not* a nurse either and work as a hospital based LC
in a hospital in downtown Chicago. We are a teaching hospital and I DO touch
breasts. It is in my capacity as a Lactation Consultant. I always ask first
and if there is resistance (very seldom), I explain *why* I would like to
assess the breast and see the baby at breast.
