Hi Everyone,
I have a friend, a dietician, who is tandem nursing a 3 month old girl and a two year old girl. She has had to date 8 blocked ducts. Her baby of 2 months had eczema so Mom is on a milk, wheat and egg free diet. It is winter here but she lives in the hottest town in South Africa - Komaatipoort - average Temp in Summer 40C and Winter 25C but its still winter to her. She has taken Lecithin but not a sufficient dose which we have adjusted. She does get a "bleb" which she clears away. She has found that the breast she feeds the little one ( 2months) on is the one that gets the blocked ducts so she is now changing breasts - the little one does have a "click" when feeding - so we have tried to improve that by telephone - she lives about 120 kms away. She soaks her breast in hot water and gets the toddler to clear the problem. We have tried at the tricks of the trade and adjusted some! Can anyone give some input here. Can someone tell me why is it friends that have problems?
Sincerely,
Barbie Currie IBCLC
