A cross cradle hold or a foot ball hold are good, I would think, for a
blind mom.  She can use pillows to help support the baby (I could do the
foot ball hold with NO hands--better to read to toddlers, or read to
yourself, or eat, etc) and have one hand to lightly feel if the bottom
lip is out and the ears are moving.
