Gitte asked if formula is really needed for a 10 month old self weaning baby
whose mom is pregnant.  I believe that the recommendation for formula or
breastmilk until 1 year is just from the AAP.  It isn't something written in
stone.   I think I remember Jack writing that in Canada the recommendations
are different.  Anyway, I doubt you could convince a 10 month old to take
formula if he hasn't already been indoctrinated on the stuff.  If he is
eating a well balanced diet it shouldn't be that much of an issue; not worth
fighting over (by mom with baby or us with mom).
