I have a daughter who was diagnosed with lupus twelve years ago.  I
remember reading that fertility was not affected, but there was a
higher than normal risk of spontaneous abortion and infant cardiac
problems.  Also, like other autoimmune diseases, it may improve
during pregnancy and relapse or flare post-partum.   Just as a point
of interest, when of the first signs of a flare for my daughter is usually
a rapid onset of anaemia.  Sorry, I don't have any references.  E Shea,
